Happy 84th Birthday to Marilyn Monroe!

It took me three tries, but I finally finished watching this movie! A musical-comedy released in 1954, it's an Irving Berlin extravaganza with lots of singing, dancing and growing up angst and drama. Mitzi Gaynor's hoofing skills are beyond belief--she's absolutely fabulous! And of course Marilyn Monroe is the epitome of beauty. Her "singing and dancing" can best be described as feathery whispers and shoulder shimmy's but she was the reason for me watching this film. She was an underrated actress and deserved better from Hollywood.

  1. I'm thinking I should put this in my queue; you've piqued my interest. Sounds like a fun movie for a hot summer evening.
