COMPOSTING 101

Galvanized metal trashcans from the Home Depot. Prior prepping involved drilling holes in the sides and bottom of each can, which allow worms (?) to come and help with the process. (So far, have only seen ants.) Lids lock in place to keep out unwanted critters.

Here's Michael (yes, he needs to get out in the sun and tan those legs!) getting the composting spot ready for the cans.

TA-DA!
Project finished!
The only problem is the size of the cans. In my mind, I was expecting BIG cans and with the amount of produce that is now consumed in this household, I'm filling these little guys up rather quickly.
AND. . .I found out that it can take from 4-6 months (?!) for composting to actually happen!!

YIKES!

The ONLY way to buy!!

  1. This is cool. The Snooti Benvenuti are truly eco-friendly folks. With all that veggie waste, maybe you'll need a row of composter cans.
